There were two desires driving this design: a journey, and an abundance of water.
The journey
A path to walk, with things to interact with and gently look at. As the mind wanders, small details catch the attention of the eye for a moment or two before moving along.
An abundance of water
This garden contains a man-made dry creek bed with the capacity to store thousands of litres of water underground — all harvested and stored from rain. This water supplies the landscape, creating an abundance of vegetation and flowering concentrated over the dry creek bed.
The timber boardwalk was selected to prevent any interruptions to the flow of water into the dry creek bed.
I take on a limited number of commissions each year — gardens, courtyards and interiors, Australia-wide.
